Some areas of the Fire Island beach are marked to prevent people from disturbing the Piping Plover nests.

Little do they know that the family of fox ignore the signs. They leave their little footprints all over the beach and there is not one Piping Plover around.

Signs won't keep the fox from their dinner!

The fox had kittens since the last time I saw her. There were definitely three maybe four kits. So adorable, they were much more skittish than their mom.

It's rare to see garbage like this on Fire Island. It must have gotten blown off someone's deck or patio in the last windy storm. Many homes are on the water and we've had exceptionally windy weather!

The town of Bellport, has a gazebo on the beach. It's a nice place to see and watch the sailboats go by.

Heckscher State Park Osprey

We took our bicycles to Heckscher Park this morning and right near the bike trail is an osprey nest. We hung around for a while to take some photos, of course not having the longer lens. Still, he flew in close enough for a few seconds to get this shot.
