Sunrise Jan1 2015

Sunrise on a new year...
I've been taking a new year's sunrise photo since the year 2000.
At that time, we thought the world was in danger.
Many events have taken place since then, both good and bad.
And each year we begin with the hope and promise that everything will be better.
Wishing you all the good things in life: health, happiness, peace and love!

Vagabond and the Lighthouse

I really haven't been taking or posting many photos recently. Oh, you've noticed?

It's a fact of life that at some point, a person's "focus" changes.

The purchase of a Florida condo, for winter cold-weather escapes, has us spending all of our energy (and money) into getting settled, buying furniture, and making friends.

I keep saying that as soon as we're settled, I'll once again search out locations and wildlife to photograph. Soon, really, I will!

Thanks for continuing to stop by and visit here.

In the meantime, you can check out my images for Google Earth and Maps at Panoramio.

Jupiter Beach Police

Jupiter Beach Police, originally uploaded by Alida's Photos.

The police are ready!
Why are they riding all along the Jupiter/Juno Beach? Who knows?
I never see this much police presents on Fire Island. Maybe that's a good thing?

Carlin Park, Jupiter, Florida

I came down to Florida to get away from a cold and snowy Long Island.
The weather here in Florida is like April in NY, cool and pleasant.
I took a walk on the beach in sunshine and life guards were ready!
The beach was open for business but the water is still only 73°!

Jupiter Lighthouse

Jupiter Lighthouse, originally uploaded by Alida's Photos.

Warm Florida weather and a trip to the Jupiter Lighthouse for a sunset shot....
There is something so romantic about a lighthouse.
Its history and its connection to the sea, brings it to our hearts!
