Get the Fishing Boats Ready!.............Yes, it is officially spring. Flounder fishing begins April 1st. Get the boats ready. This photo is from Captree Island. There is a large fishing fleet of boats ready to take you into the bay or out to sea. You may still need a hat and gloves though. The temperatures here on Long Island are about 25-30 degrees F today and that's cold when you're out on the open sea!...but, it is spring, it really is!!!

I just love fishing since coming from the fishermans land - Norway, you know. But most of all I'm looking forward to the spring season since King Winter has ruled long enough :-)
