Fire Island LighthouseLooking through my files, I came across this photo of the lighthouse that was taken from the water.
It was summer, 2004, and my husband and I had been fishing in the ocean.
As we returned through Fire Island Inlet and came across the bay, this is what we saw.
The white, black and red are just striking against all that blue.
When you think of the nautical history that is behind the stories of Long Island, the lighthouse is such an icon of those times.
It is no wonder that so many people have a love for this lighthouse.
