November at the beach on Fire Island... I am amazed at the number of vehicles that travel along the Fire Island Seashore. There are no paved roads along the barrier beach but utility vehicles and maintenance workers travel along to their destinations. After the recent rains and storm, the sand is relatively solid. It's a great place to take a long walk....and it's right here on Long Island.
