We took a ride recently to the east end of Long Island. On the way we passed beautiful fields and countryside.
It is still very agricultural and country-like.
It has the feel of old New England and a flavor of the nautical history that it shares with that time and place.
This part of Long Island is very different from what most people think of as "Long Island."
Yes, we have shopping malls, traffic and congestion, but also have this:
farms, harbors, fishing, golf courses and wineries.
Take a drive out east, when you get the chance!
