Visit to "the city"

New York City...Plenty of taxis

Twin brownstones on 64th Street

Central Park, the Literary Walk, lined with tall, healthy, elm trees....

We went into "the city" this weekend. Manhattan, New York City.

Long Islanders call it "the city" and everyone here knows it's Manhattan.

It was a beautiful day for taking photos and just walking around.

We saw the Roundabout play, Beyond Glory, written and performed by Stephen Lang.

It was taken from the book, written by Larry Smith, about men who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for their service in the US military.

Robert Falls, the director, wrote, "Beyond Glory reveals the humanity of eight men who, when faced with almost unimaginable circumstances in battle, rose to remarkable acts of heroism and courage."

It was a very moving play and during these times, a painful reminder that men and women today are facing the horrors of war.

I saw an excellent play and a wonderful performance by Stephen Lang.

Alida - I like your site. I have a random question...I work in the City and currently live in Brooklyn. However I am looking for a neighborhood that doesn't feel like I am in the city - clean/natural - but still not a grueling commute. Do you have any recommendations? Thank you!
