The boating pose

Out for a boat ride and a quick trip to the beach.
I have a family who loves to pose for the camera!
Linda and Greg, my sister and brother....50 and 60 years old! Would you believe it?!
My parents lived into their 80s and never looked over 65.
I guess it's good genes and healthy living!

No, that is not my husband in the photo above.

Country Road, East End of Long Island

We took a ride recently to the east end of Long Island.
On the way we passed beautiful fields and countryside.
It is still very agricultural and country-like.
It has the feel of old New England and a flavor of the nautical history that it shares with that time and place.
This part of Long Island is very different from what most people think of as "Long Island."
Yes, we have shopping malls, traffic and congestion, but also have this:
farms, harbors, fishing, golf courses and wineries.
Take a drive out east, when you get the chance!

Visit to "the city"

New York City...Plenty of taxis
~~~~~~~~
Twin brownstones on 64th Street
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Central Park, the Literary Walk, lined with tall, healthy, elm trees....

~~~~~~~~~~~
We went into "the city" this weekend. Manhattan, New York City.
Long Islanders call it "the city" and everyone here knows it's Manhattan.
It was a beautiful day for taking photos and just walking around.
We saw the Roundabout play, Beyond Glory, written and performed by Stephen Lang.
It was taken from the book, written by Larry Smith, about men who received the Congressional Medal of Honor for their service in the US military.
Robert Falls, the director, wrote, "Beyond Glory reveals the humanity of eight men who, when faced with almost unimaginable circumstances in battle, rose to remarkable acts of heroism and courage."
It was a very moving play and during these times, a painful reminder that men and women today are facing the horrors of war.
I saw an excellent play and a wonderful performance by Stephen Lang.
Clouds over the Great South Bay
It was a beautiful weekend for boating!
Great clouds, better without rain, give the sky a special appearance. It's magical!
Clouds reflect and absorb the sunlight. Sunsets are spectacular with colors of red and yellow visible in the clouds.
The photo above is of the Great South Bay.
You can see the Robert Moses bridge in the distance.
Summer on the Great South Bay....Spectacular!
Wishes for a happy and problem free Fourth of July.
May you enjoy the day with family and friends and remember why we celebrate this day.
An evening of sailing...
We were invited to take a sunset sail. It was a wonderful evening and the sky was perfect...blue with big white fluffy clouds. The air was crisp and clear, so the visibility was great!
The full moon rose about 9:46 and since we recently passed the summer solstice, June 21, the moon looked super-large on the horizon.
What a great night!
