parking by the bay

There is something so different about the air once Labor Day arrives. The sky has less haze and more fluffy clouds. The coolness in the air has that almost autumn feel. It is one of the best times on Long Island!

To me, long, long ago, it meant going out to Fire Island Inlet to catch the end of the fluke season. I remember one year that it went from Labor Day to the first week of October. There was something about renting a boat at the Oak Beach Fishing Station and fishing that inlet.

This photo is absolutely stunning! It's amazing how the most natural things can be so beautiful and usually what we forget first!
