Carlin Park, Jupiter, Florida

I came down to Florida to get away from a cold and snowy Long Island.
The weather here in Florida is like April in NY, cool and pleasant.
I took a walk on the beach in sunshine and life guards were ready!
The beach was open for business but the water is still only 73°!

The water temperature of the low 70s is not unusual for this time of the year, Alida. Of course that would be considered a warm ocean temperature at the south shore Atlantic Ocean in the latter July and August months in New York. The lastest I even put my feet in the waten in Zachs Bay was the beginning of October during the 1960s. On top of that, this one particular year, the water got so warm that there were sheepshead caught off of Jones Beach piers and we saw a school of needlefish at Zachs bay too.
