Bio: Alida Thorpe

My camera has always been required gear for my journey through life. I was born in Brooklyn, moving to Long Island, New York as a young adult. After a lengthy career in public education, I began using photography as a way to appreciate my surroundings and share my love of the outdoors. Nature and wildlife, traveling, and boating, fit perfectly with my love of photography.
More recently, my husband and I became full time Florida residents, and my creative path has led me to mixed-media creations. I am on a new journey to create art and express my creativity through collage and abstract works. My art is a culmination of my photography and the new pursuit of mixed-media creations.
