Atlantic Rhythm

Atlantic Rhythm, originally uploaded by Alida's Photos.

A very still, calm morning on the river....we sailed out to the bay to go fishing.
Yes, we caught fish again!
The bay is alive with Weak fish and King fish and lots of Snappers!
~~~
I love being on the water in the early morning. The wind is usually calm (since the heat of the day hasn't warmed the land to create the temperature changes that bring wind) and there are few boats moving about to stir up the water.
The air has that salty, fresh smell and a coolness this time of year.
Did I tell you I love being on the water?
If my memory serves me right, we are talking about Sayville in Great South Bay. I am glad to hear that the weakfish are running well. This is the time of the year that kingfish would run well too. Kingfish in Florida however are King Mackerel and not that species of fish with the little whisker that runs up north. Snappers of course are an always this time of the year. Great photo as always
This would be the last time of the year to catch the last fluke migrating out of great south bay through fire island inlet over the next week or so. I use to fish along the shore of oak beach with a boat or over the sand bar at high tide or at the very beginning of the outgoing tide.
I stumbled over a cable channel giving a fishing report on the NE coast of Fla for instance near Jacksonville and St. Augustine. In the inland waters, the fluke are running just fine up there. There was some video shown of fisherman catching some very nice sized fish.
