This is the power plant stacks in Port Jefferson harbor,
with a tugboat on the left, at the ferry pier.
It's a wonderful little town and a real pleasure for strolling and shopping.
The ferry takes pedestrians and cars to Connecticut.
There are restaurants to meet everyone's budget.
If you haven't been there recently, take a ride and see the town for yourself.

Thanks for that beautiful shot of those stacks! My dad worked at that LILCO plant for many years and we lived in Port Jefferson Station (or Selden, depending on who was drawing the line and when...).
He worked there with a great bunch of guys and they'd fish off the pier on Fridays to bring home dinner. Periodically divers would go down to clear off the grates on the outflow - the water used to cool the turbines came out warmer than it went in, and the mussels would congregate on the grate in the warmer water - what a great meal those mussels made!
I guess the Sound doesn't provide as many good dinners anymore, eh? Oh well, times change, perhaps like the Hudson, it will get cleaned up again.
As a former Long Islander, I really enjoy your work. Thanks!
My daughter just moved to Port Jefferson Station from Selden. I haven't been there yet. This is a lovely photo. I'll have to send it to her. Thank you.
Thank you both for your comments!
Jean, I wish I had your email or some way to communicate with you. My late husband also worked for LILCO, in Northport and then on "overhead lines." I know all about the grates that needed to be cleaned. Many types of fish and seafood would be attracted by the warmer water.
